Agosto Joins Google’s Chromebook Reseller Pilot Program
Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 8:00AM Chromebook takes organizations to the “next level of computing paradigm” with a netbook that gives them faster, simpler and more secure use of the web.
MINNEAPOLIS (Feb. 02, 2012)—Agosto, Inc. (www.agosto.com), one of the nation’s oldest and fastest-growing Google Apps and cloud services consulting firms, has contracted with Google, Inc. to become an early Chromebook reseller. As a Chromebook reseller, Agosto is one of the nation’s first companies to offer the Chromebook. Running on Google Chrome OS and built with cloud-based applications in mind, the netbook provides users with faster, simpler, and more secure use of the Web.
Initially sold direct, in early December Google invited a limited number of Google Apps Resellers to sell Chromebooks and the management console used to configure and manage user accounts. As a Chromebook Reseller, Agosto is now better equipped to help its customers integrate Google Apps and cloud computing through their organization and lessen the management demands currently placed on IT departments.
“We took a hard look at the Chromebook and came to the conclusion that it really represents the ultimate in ease-of-management united with the unlimited resources of the Cloud,” said Aric Bandy, CEO of Agosto, Inc. “It’s really a computing paradigm shift, and our customers are ready for it. They’ve been clamoring for a device that reduces IT workload, enhances security, and provides full mobility and it’s here in the Chromebook.”
Considered by some as a “no-brainer,” Chromebook offers the ultimate in simplicity. Built and optimized for the Web, Chromebook was introduced in May 2011. It boasts an incredible eight- second boot time, the netbook is designed to leverage Chrome web applications such as word processing and instant messaging, and it has a multilayer security architecture that eliminates the need for anti-virus software.
“Why would a K12 tech director deploy a device that requires endless time imaging and patching applications? What business can afford the time applying those software patches, while trying to stay on top of security issues?” asked Bandy. “It’s all automatic with the Chromebook.”
